Viva's History

Welcome to Viva, the coffee dream ignited by Ricardo Hidalgo (Ricky)—a teenager with an extraordinary passion for the bean.

For Ricky, coffee isn't just a drink; it's an obsession. His journey began not with a business plan, but with a relentless pursuit in his own kitchen, transforming a simple morning routine into a rigorous scientific experiment. Every bean was weighed, every temperature was calibrated, and every extraction was timed in his quest to create the elusive, perfect cup. This intense dedication quickly evolved into a profound realization: his true dream was to share this exhilarating love of high-quality coffee with the world.

This commitment to excellence drove Ricky far beyond the typical high school experience. He traveled to the source, immersing himself in the vibrant coffee culture of El Salvador to earn foundational accreditation from the globally respected Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). He didn't stop there. He achieved Advanced Barista Certification to master the art of espresso service and secured his Roastery Certification to understand the science of transforming green beans into rich, complex flavors.

At Viva, we believe world-class quality starts with world-class knowledge. Ricky’s hands-on expertise—from the farm to the foam—ensures that every single product meets the highest standards. His ultimate passion is simple: to share the absolute best cup with every customer, turning your daily ritual into a moment of pure, unforgettable perfection.

Join us on this journey as we bring the Viva dream to life, one meticulously crafted cup at a time.
